I don't think your work is lifeless, it's just really polished and clean.
I'd say go for some crazy perspectives maybe? get a little angry with that line weight :3

Thank you! I thought about that, rough lines are getting real popular lately

(J. Alex here) Going off of MindChamber's note, the general study of dynamism and foreshortening will certainly help with that.
Of course that's not just general studies, but maybe looking at artists like Sushio from Studio Trigger could help? (I'm partly telling myself that as well, with my personal artistic journey)

Ooo yes, I love studio triggers anime most of them were my inspiration for art to begin with back in the day.

Hmm #NotAnArtist, so take whatever I say with a huge grain of salt (I've flip-flopped twice already, lol), but I don't know if I'd describe any the sample I looked at as lifeless. The worst I could say is your colors tend to be, uh, what is word? "Lacking in garishness? But the good kind?" That might just be preference on my part though, I tend to like very vibrant art with a bit of "color conflict" (I'm sure there's a very smart word for that, lol).

The only other thing I can think of to imbue "life" into a picture is to add "motion". I don't know if there's video tutorials for "how to add a sense of motion to a drawing" but I do know of an artist who I feel got very good at it. He makes the webcomic El Goonish Shive. The writing is "eh?", the story is dubious, but the art is on point (esp. w.r.t a sense of motion). I haven't kept up with it, so maybe it's gone clean down the tube, but it might be worth a brief investigation to see if you can find any ideas or inspiration.

Anyway, #NotAnArtist, but I hope this has at least been positive and encouraging. If not, keep up the good work, I believe in you! :D

Color is definitely something I can't wrap my head around! Thank you so much for the feedback!

Personally, I didn't see any "lifelessness" in your drawings even when I tried looking for it, but that could just be me. You could create a thread in the Art forum asking for help on how to rectify that, and reference some samples you think might be representative.

Thank you so much! I think I want to work on my color theory.

@Gimmick @GrumpySheep I'm glad you appreciate it :D

I'm sure you'll get the hang of it with practice, and I look forward to many great works from you in the future ^_^
